I’m was confused about what to get: GH5 or G9. After I saw few reviews about G9 with 2.0 firmware I realised that camera is a good choice as it have high filming capabilities and remains a great photo camera in the same time. Happy to be aG9 owner!

I'm currently at a bit of a crossroads involving this camera. Do I add a G9 body to go alongside my G80 or do I sell my G80 and buy an S1. I like the idea of having two cameras but I absolutely love the image the S1 produces…

Is the UK version any different than the US version? Noticed the model number was slightly different. The UK version you have linked is cheaper than US one by $150.

I am not sure what camera to get next. the G9 looks like my best choice but i am concerned about the video recording limits was this an issue for you? and is there a recording limit on the timelapse mode?

I agree with the title. But in terms of value depreciation, G9 hasn't held its value the best: G9 cost $1700 at the time of release and is currently $1k and $800 used. You'd never see that big drop on a popular FF body like A7iii.

I'm torn between the G9 and G90/95. The G90 ticks almost all the boxes but it has this 4K crop. On the other hand it's a lot cheaper where I live and as I'm not sure how often I would use it maybe it's the right choice. But then we have the firmware update that makes the G9 an even greater camera for the money that is hard to resist. What does worry me though which relates to both cameras is that it seems difficult to achieve a decent shallow DOF. Is that because of the sensor? The scene where I intend to use the camera the most does not allow long lenses.

maybe you can help me, I make videos mainly in 1080p … does the g9 in 1080 have better autofocus? Maybe the G9 Is too much for my purpose?
My type of video Is vlog, hiking, etc..

i would buy leica 12-60 and a fast lens, so autofocus in these conditions can be a problem with the g80 in 1080 i think

I bought my G9 when it and the GH5 where pretty much at the same price point. I was glad that I went with the G9 at the time because of the better stabilization and the high mega pixil mode. Now with the firmware I love my G9 even more.

i'm thinking of giving my g85 to my gf's kid. he's only 10 and currently has the gx7. got a few lenses for the mft system. is it worth the upgrade? someone encourage me.:)

I own, I do enjoy it more coming from the G7. I have considered selling it for the A7iii. But you have confirmed my doubts about selling it…it does offer a lot of choices, I love the Sony for its sharp Full Frame images and especially the low light end of it…Thanks for your informative video
